My internshipp with GAC in Shanghai was unreal!
September 17, 2025by: Leo Schmidt - AustraliaProgram: Paid Internships in Fortune 500 Companies in ChinaMy internshipp with GAC in Shanghai was unreal! I was at a huge Fortune 500 company and actualy did real work, not just coffee runs. The pay covered my livving costs which was awesome. Sometimes the office hours were long but I learned so much about business in China. The GAC staff helped me with my visa and even set me up in a nice apartment. I met people from all over and my Mandarin got way better just from being there. Definitely recomended if you want international work experience!
Hey Leo, we're thrilled to hear your internship in Shanghai was such a rewarding experience! It's great that you got to dive into meaningful work and that the placement helped cover your costs while boosting your Mandarin skills. We're glad our team could support you with the logistics and housing—sounds like you made the most of the professional and cultural opportunities. Thanks for the strong recommendation! I did the Gap Year program with internshipp and language
September 17, 2025by: Zara Abbasi - United StatesProgram: GAC Gap Year Learn Chinese & Internship in China ProgramI did the Gap Year program with internshipp and language study and it was the best year ever! I was nervous at first but GAC made it so easy. My internshipp was in marketing and I also took Mandarin classes 3 times a week. I loved how flexible it was and I got to travel on weekends. The local team was always available if I had any problems. I feel so much more confident now and even have job offers! Perfect for anyone who wants a real adventure.
Hey Zara, we're so thrilled to hear your gap year was the best ever! It's awesome that the mix of interning and language classes worked so well for you and that you had time to travel and explore. We're especially proud that you're feeling more confident and even have job offers—that's amazing! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Warmly, The Go Abroad China Team

I needed an experience totally different from what I would normally get back in Europe or in America, and so I looked toward Asia to get a fresh perspective. Naturally when you think of Asia, China stands out as an easy choice due to its prominence in Asia and the attention it is getting in the world.

I started learning Chinese back when I was a junior in high school and actually went to China to do a language study abroad language program, which was affiliated with my high school back in the U.S. From then, my trip to China really sparked my interest for an international future working career. So, last year I decided that I would go to China again and gain some much needed work experience, and an insight into China, given the fact that it is part of my university major. I applied for an international program as really a continuation from what I had already experienced during the time when I was in high school and first traveled to China.

Just like any other young person out there just out of university, the next step before actual formal employment is to take part in an internship to improve your job prospects and gain knowledge. I found myself with a particular interest in China and started researching what options were available, but ultimately the end result was to improve myself so that I could get the experience and move on further to some even better employment. Besides, I also needed a really fresh experience from the jobs that I have done back in Australia.
